Garage Management Service Contract with American Parking & Services

Signing a Valet Services Contract

Deciding on a valet company is an important step in making your wedding, private party, grand opening, open house, or corporate event a big success. The valet parking services you choose will be the first impression and last impression your guests have of your event. You’ve googled private party valet companies, you’ve requested quotes, asked a bunch of questions and have finally chosen your preferred valet company. You just want everything to be perfect, so you make plans to see the company’s valet services in action. You either valet your vehicle at one of their locations or park nearby and watch the valets work. While this won't tell you everything you need to know about the valet parking companies in question, it can give you a first-hand experience with their services and a good indication of what you can expect at your own event.

You’re ready to sign the contract. Contracts are legally-binding agreements, so make sure the one you receive is clearly worded, reflects your needs and expectations and those of the valet service you're hiring. Double-check the details, ask any questions and get clarification on items before signing the contract. This includes the actual location’s address, date, number of valets, start and end times, what time the valets will arrive, and any special requests. Most problems with valet parking companies occur because of a breakdown in communication. By being clear about your expectations and theirs, you can avoid most conflicts.

To ensure the event is a success, there are a few things you can do:

Act as a liaison between the valet service company and the facility or venue. Be sure your valet service representative has a phone number where they can reach you the day of the event. Appoint a spokesperson if you will not be available and provide their contact information to the valet company. Know and communicate all event details that can impact the valet parking and be proactive about communicating any changes to event times, number of guests, parking logistics, etc. Be aware that additional charges may occur if the event times change or the vehicle count increases. Pay for the valet parking services promptly and as promised. This includes any additional gratuities or fees to which you agreed.
